José Mourinho has hinted that Kaká could get more playing time for Real Madrid, following his performance during the Blancos‘ 8-0 win over Millonarios on Wednesday evening.

The Brazilian midfielder, who has been out of favour in recent months, played for 60 minutes and scored three times during his side’s Bernabeu Trophy win.

Mourinho has admitted that Kaká’s fine display has improved his chances of getting more playing time in the future.

He said: “Kaká played well, like the rest of the team, while we kept a solid structure. We worked well.

“When the players show motivation and ambition the consequence is that their coach is more confident and puts them in the team for official matches.

“Kaká and the others showed qualities to put their name in the coach’s head.”

The 30-year-old playmaker has struggled in the last few seasons to recapture the form which saw him named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2007.

He recently vowed to fight for his place at the Bernabeu, after a move away from the club did not materialise this summer.

Kaká will be looking to gain some more playing time at the weekend when Madrid host Deportivo in La Liga.
