Chelsea’s trio of Brazilian internationals all played 90 minutes in the Seleção’s 1-0 win over South Africa yesterday, with defender David Luiz captaining the side.
The young centre-back inherited the captain"s armband, with Thiago Silva out injured, and led his country out at the historic Morumbi Stadium.
The Seleção and Mano Menezes have received heavy criticism following a poor performance and a lack of goals in the game, with boos circulating the stadium throughout the 90 minutes.
David Luiz, who helped to set-up Hulk"s goal, has criticised the pitch at the Morumbi Stadium, which had just hosted São Paulo and Internacional the day before.
He said: “We had difficulties on a field that did not help anything, but I think we were mature and intelligent to win.
“Despite the difficulties of an irregular field, we got the win that was important."
Blues teammate Oscar, who was one of the better performers for Brazil, was also critical of the playing surface.
The £25 million signing said: “The lawn fumbled a bit, because of the game yesterday [Thursday] and that did not help."
Oscar was very hungry for the ball during the game and played some good attacking football.
However, the number 10 just couldn"t create anything substantial in a game where Brazil had very few chances.
“Although we created little, we had chances. In the second half we had more attacking chances," Oscar added.
“There was a lack of communication, but South Africa fought hard and made it very difficult."
Ramires, who also played the ninety-minutes, had a rather quiet game for the Seleção.
The midfielder struggled to get on the ball and make the charging runs from deep that have become his trademark.
The Premier League trio will get another chance for game-time when Brazil face China on Monday in another international friendly.
