Julio César has confirmed that he will join Queens Park Rangers from Inter Milan.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper, who was watching QPR in action against Walsall at Loftus Road last night, spent seven years at the San Siro, where he helped the Nerazzurri win five Serie A titles and one Champions League crown.

”I choose to join QPR because I think will play more than at Inter and the Premier League is watched worldwide,” César told SporTV.

The Brazil international went on to reveal why he decided to join QPR, a move that has surprised many people in his homeland.

”I am a bit surprised, but I am delighted to have been given the opportunity by QPR to come to London, learn English and play in the Premier League,” César said.

”It all started during my summer vacation when Inter suggested that I reduce my salary. No player in my situation would have done that.

”I am not a hypocrite and I can talk openly about this. It became a tough situation for both parties. I then spoke to my representative and I thought this was a good choice.”

César is unlikely to make his QPR debut against Manchester City on Saturday as he hopes to be given the opportunity to bid farewell to the Inter Milan fans before Andre Stramaccioni’s men take on Roma at the San Siro this Sunday.

”I’ll terminate my contract with Inter Milan and thank the president Massimo Moratti for the seven wonderful years we have had together,” he added.

”I’ll ask him to let me go on the pitch before the match between Inter and Roma so I can give a collective hug to all the fans.

”That would be a nice gesture and I don’t think the president will deny me that.”

It is understood that the former Flamengo shot-stopper, who has been capped 64 times by Brazil, will join QPR on a four-year deal.
