AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has admitted that the Rossoneri face a near-impossible task in trying to re-sign Kaká from Real Madrid.
The Italian giants are desperate to lure the 30-year-old back to the San Siro this summer but they seem unable to meet the financial demands of both Madrid and the player.
Galliani has now conceded that signing the attacking midfielder will be difficult, as the Spanish champions have stressed he will only leave for the right price.
He told Sky Sport Italia: “Operation Kaká is a very complicated matter. I would say that it is nearly impossible.
“The costs are enormou; we are talking about very high wages.”
Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has vowed that the La Liga champions will only let Kaká leave for the right price.
“The most important thing is that he is happy. He is a great player at a high level. If he stays, it would be perfect for me and if not we will notice the difference,” he told reporters.
“We will not let go of him on a free. If a team wants him, they will have to pay up.”
Kaká cost Real Madrid €68.5 million when he signed in 2009 and his remaining three-year contract at the Bernabeu reportedly earns him €9 million a season.
The Brazilian International spent six seasons in Italy, scoring 95 goals and making 46 assists during 269 appearances. He led AC Milan to the Serie A title in 2004 and more notably, the Champions League title in 2007.
