Paris Saint-Germain look set to win the chase for Brazilian youngster Lucas Moura, after potential team-mate Thiago Silva hinted that the youngster will join him in France.

Lucas, 19, has taken much of the press attention away from the Seleção as they prepare for a semi-final encounter with Republic of Korea on Tuesday.

it was initially reported that Lucas was close to joining Manchester United, but, over the weekend, it has emerged that the French side are now front runners for his signature.

“I have spoken with Lucas this past week because I have seen some things in the press. Being at PSG, I wanted to find out what was true, or not. He still is yet to sign,” Thiago told reporters.

“I suggested him to Leonardo, who asked me about Lucas. I am not promoting him because he’s my friend, but because of his technical quality. He has much to give for the Seleção and, happy with a move to PSG, he can help us to strive for this Gold medal.

“Of course I want Lucas on our side. It will be a great help to have such a talented player in our team. He finishes well in small spaces and, of course, it is better he plays for us than against us.”

Brazil take on Korea at 19.45 BST on Tuesday, aiming for a place in the final. With nothing signed and Lucas playing at Old Trafford, could there be one last attempt from the Red Devils for his signature?
