Brazil international forward Hulk has described being linked with Champions League winners Chelsea as “a huge achievement”.

Hulk, 25, has reportedly been a transfer target for Chelsea this summer as they look to strengthen, but a move now looks to be off the cards following the signings of Oscar, Marko Marin and Eden Hazard in similar positions.

However, in an interview published in FourFourTwo on Wednesday but conducted in June, Hulk admitted he was very happy to be linked with the Blues this summer.

Hulk said: “I am very happy. They are the European champions and the best club in Europe at the moment. For me, it is a huge achievement that they want me to play for them.

“I want to continue to win trophies. That is what I want to do if I join Chelsea.”

The powerful forward joined Porto in 2008, having shot to fame in Japan with Consadole Sapporo and Tokyo Verdy after a slow start to his career in Brazil.

It now appears he will continue his career at the Dragão, after a summer move to England failed to progress past the initial stages.
