Michel Salgado has urged his former club Real Madrid to make a move for Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker instead of Inter Milan"s Maicon.

The Brazilian right-back is expected to leave the San Siro this summer, and reports have suggested that Los Blancos are interested in acquiring the 30-year-old’s services.

However, Salgado believes that Real Madrid should be looking to sign Walker, 22, rather than Maicon.

"He [Walker] moves up the field like a bullet," the former Spain international told Marca. "He is really quick and he does a lot of damage in attack, while he is better at the back. For me, he is the best, but his price could make a transfer impossible.

"Brazilian full-backs are all the same. Spectacular while moving up the field, but they create problems to any team in defence. It is impossible to create damage in attack and defend at the same time. You have to see what Mourinho wants."
