The 34-year-old centre-back has helped Inter win six trophies since joining the club from Bayern Munich in 2009 in a deal worth €7 million.

Lúcio committed his future to the Nerazzurri last summer by signing a new deal which would tie him down to the Serie A giants until 2014, but his representative has now stated that his client is hoping for a move in the upcoming transfer window.

”He has put an end to three great years at Inter and he feels it is time for a change,” Becker told Lancenet.

”We have been taking care of this since last week and we will speak with Inter again on Wednesday.

”We shared our thoughts and Inter accepted it. Now we have to look for a new club.

”Lúcio has only made friends where he has been. He was the one who decided to leave, but Inter understood him. It was a friendly decision.”

Becker also went on to explain that Lúcio is hoping to continue plying his trade in Europe, but moving back to Brazil is also an option.

”His preference is to play in a big European league, but you never know,” he added.

”There is a lot of interest from Brazilian clubs and Lucio knows that the 2014 World Cup will be played there.

”We do not know his future.”

Lúcio made his name in football at Internacional spending three years at the Brazilian club between 1997 and 2000, before joining Bayer Leverkusen.
