Ganso and Neymar have played a key role in the Peixe’s Paulista state championship winning season this year, and the pair have both long attracted interest from a host of clubs in Europe.
Neymar has repeatedly stated his commitment to Santos, while Ganso has kept a tight lip about his future at the Vila Belmiro.
However, in an interview with Globoesporte, Ganso argued that it is unknown who is more likely to play for a European club first.
"I don"t know who will leave first. I hope to be by his side for a long time; and if possible, my entire career. I could never imagine playing against him, even though I am not a defender," the 22-year-old midfielder said.
Ganso also spoke about his friendship with Neymar, describing the highly-rated forward as his ‘little brother".
"He is my ‘little brother". He helps me a lot on and off the field, and I also try to help him the best I can," the No. 10 explained.
"That is the key, that friendship and brotherhood. One helps the other and it is important. We never talk about [being separated], I don"t even want to think about. If it happens one day, it just leaves more for the future."
