Neymar, 20, who is already the club’s fifth highest scorer since the time of Pelé, guided the club to their third Copa Libertadores title in 2011.

Yet, the Brazilian wonderkid does not feel he can be compared to the Santos idol.

“I still have a lot ahead of me,” Neymar told reporters. “I do not think I am the greatest since Pele.

“Robinho is my idol, he will always be better than me. I have much still to do and achieve.”

Having won so much in the game at such an early age, is there a danger of complacency?

“I still have so much to achieve,” Neymar continued. “I do not play to be the greatest of all time or the best goalscorer. I play to help Santos, always!”
