Gomes suffered a stroke during the Cruz de Malta’s Campeonato Brasileiro match against arch-rivals Flamengo last August.
Since the 47-year-old’s health scare, his assistant Cristóvão Borges has been in charge of the first team.
”I will be back in June, no later than July and certainly at Vasco. I’m sure it will happen. I don’t have to rush, but its not too far,” Gomes told Gazeta Esportes website.
