The Tricolor hold fond memories of their Argentine opponents, having knocked them out in the semi-finals of South America’s most prestigious football tournament in 2008.

That year, Boca Juniors midfielder Riquelme sparked some controversy ahead of the fixture, claiming that he knew nothing about Fluminense.

”At the time Riquelme said he never heard of the club, but we responded on the pitch. Now they all know, and they will respect us more,” Thiago Neves told Globoesporte.
