Far from prolific last season, the 20-year-old striker has sprung to life this season with seven goals in five starts.

However, on a night that should have been a celebration for the youngster, his mood was soured with an injury-time red-card that will see him miss the next match and allow for the return of Luis Fabiano from injury.

“I understand it from his point of view,” said the former-Gremio Barueri striker of Luis Fabiano’s retuen. “I’m happy at Sao Paulo and I will fight for my space, but I respect him. He is an idol.”
