With only three forwards (Luis Fabiano, Fernandinho and William José) in the squad, São Paulo have returned for Nilmar once more, having last season attempted to prize the player back from Spain – only to be put-off by a £20 million valuation.

The player is believed to be excited at the prospect of a return to Brazil and the Spanish club are willing to drop their value considerably from twelve months ago.

Lancenet! reports that discussions are in an advanced stage and that the club have dismissed the possiblity of bringing in Osvaldo, with UAE side Al Ahli stalling negotiations. The high price of Nilmar remains the main stumbling block in the deal reaching completion.
