Speaking very realistically to Radio Gaúcho, Luigi was clear that he expects the side to return with another offer for the Argentine playmaker and with D’Allesandro now 31, that he may be tempted to take the pay-day on offer in the far-east.
The deal would be reminiscent of the transfer of Darío Conca to Guangzhou Evergrande in 2011, with Fluminense unable to resist the offer on the table from the nouveaux-riche Chinese side. Conca had been voted Brasileirão player of the year in 2010, was tempted to the south of China by the prospect of becoming the sixth best paid footballer on earth.
In fact, Luigi stated in his interview that the proposal offered to Inter for their Argentine-star was far greater than that which Fluminense accepted for Conca last season.
“As soon as contact was made, it immediately reminded me of Conca,” Luigi said in his interview. “We know how the player will be thinking, at 31 years old and with that opportunity on the table. It is something we will watch over the next few days.”
