The 30-year old left-back has struggled for a regular first team football at Barcelona and is now keen to complete a move to PSG having already held talks with the club.
”Maxwell came to see us and he told us he had an offer from PSG and he would like to accept it,” Guardiola said.
”He wants to leave and if he reaches an agreement the club will not stand in the way.”
Maxwell still has six months remaining on his contract at Barcelona but it’s understood that the club have accepted a €3.5 million bid from the French giants.
The player is expected to arrive in Paris on Thursday to undergo a medical and then sign his contract.
