In today"s early matches, Desportivo Brasil came within minutes of beating Criciuma thanks to goals from Júnior and Chico. Criciuma however could thank Baiano and Maique, as they came back twice to earn a 2-2 draw.

Corinthians then pulled off a demolition job against Santos-PR, winning 9-0 in Jaguariúna. In a display of attacking fire-power, Timãozinho"s excellent full-backs Cristiano and Denner showed strength, pace and composure throughout, with a hand in nearly all of the Paulista side"s goals. Centre-forward Leandro managed a hat-trick to stake his claim for top-scorer already, whilst Matheuzinho produced some delightful moments to end with two goals. Defensive midfielder Gomes scored twice, with Giovanni having scored early on in the first-half as Corinthians ran riot.

This evening, both Grêmio and Botafogo ran out convincing winners in their respective opening encounters against Oratório and Americano-MA respectively. Two goals from Calyson sent the Gaúcho side on their way to victory, before Aldo, Gustavo and star-man Misael added the icing on the cake to seal a 5-0 victory. Botafogo had to huff-and-puff against a determined Americano side before they could finally take home the points with a 2-0 win. Wellington opened the scoring, before the lively Sassa doubled the lead late on.

For São Paulo in the evening"s final match, it turned embarrassing as they took a 5-0 lead in the opening half-an-hour over Palmas. The minnows could not deal with the pace and movement of the São Paulo attacks, with star striker Ademilson terrorising the back four from the word go. The Brazil Under-17 striker opened the scoring, before winning a penalty for Bruno to convert and assisting the side"s third goal for marauding right-back Lucas Farias. Further goals for Guilherme and captain Marcelo followed, before the Paulista side eased into half-time. The second-half was no better, with another five goals for the Paulista side. Ademilson completed a fine hat-trick, subsititute Hugo Rodrigues scored having just come on and Bruno scored again to make it 9-0 with seven minutes to play. Just to add insult to injury, classy midfielder João Felipe struck a 20-yard left-footed effort to take the score into double figures and round-off a miserable night for the team from Tocatins state.
