Neco Circe revealed he met with Flamengo boss Vanderlei Luxemburgo to discuss the 21-year-old, but was informed that the Rio de Janeiro side are currently only interested in negotiating a deal for Internacional’s Bolivar.
Manoel has three years left on his contract at the relegated Curitiba side, but will hope to move to a top side in the coming months in order to progress his career.
Flamengo were also given a slight rebuffal today when Internacional confirmed they would not be willing to look at the possibility of a player swap for their prized defender.
The other stumbling block that must be overcome is the player’s high wage demands that have taken Flamengo by surprise thus far.
