The surgery was performed on the anterior cruciate ligament in Lucas’ left knee at Sao Paulo’s, Hospital do Coracao and the twenty four year old has now assured Liverpool fans that the operation went well.
”Fortunately everything went well with the surgery,” Lucas said. ”I would like to thank the entire medical team led by Dr. Rene Abdala and all who are supporting me. I am ready to face my recovery. It will be a difficult road, but I’m sure i’ll return in good condition to keep doing the good work that I was doing before I got injured.”
