Speaking at the Soccerex event in Rio de Janeiro, Zagallo spoke to the press about his views on the current Brazilian squad and believes the Selecao’s up and coming players provide the five times world cup winners plenty of promise for the next world cup in 2014.

”I think we can form a good team three years from now,” said the eighty year old. ”We have Neymar, Ganso, Kaka and Luis Fabiano, who has returned to Sao Paulo and has started playing very well.”

The Brazilian legend also spoke of Ronaldinho’s chances of playing in the national team and was adamant Menezes should not include the Flamengo captain in his squad.

”Ronaldinho has not changed my point of view since the start of the season,” inisted Zagallo.

”Ronaldinho Gaucho has no organic condition to play in the Selecao’s midfield. Up front there are also many great players and he doesn’t have the conditions to player there either.”

When the eighty year old was asked if he’d pick the Flamengo player, Zagallo’s response was, ”Never.”
