In an interview with Radio Bandeirantes, the President of Palmeiras, Alberto Tirone hinted that the player chose Rio de Janeiro for the beaches, despite the player’s agent, Tadic, denying an offer had ever been received.
“I do not know what happened, but unfortunately I think Wagner will not be coming to Palmeiras.
“There was a misunderstanding, unfortunately. There is a lack of beaches here in Sao Paulo,” quipped the President.
