The former Spartak Moscow player has played a key role in Tite’ team so far this season and with just five games remaining in the Brasileirao, the Paulista side have a great chance of winning their fifth league title.

However, Corinthians will be with out Alex for their next two fixtures against Atletico Paranaense and Ceara, so the midfielder can recover from his thigh injury.

Alex was substituted off at half time in Corinthians 2-1 defeat against America Mineiro on Sunday, complaining of feeling pains in his left thigh.

Without Alex, coach Tite is expected to find out this Friday whether he’ll have the option to select Jorge Henrique and Adriano in to his squad as possible replacements, after both players try to recover to full fitness.
