The Seleção striker hasnt been able to shake off his calf injury picked up in Fluminense’s 2-1 victory over Ceará.

Fred missed out on two days training in preperation for the Inter game. The striker did however train on Friday, but after complained of still feeling pain in his right calf. The captain was immediatly sent off for and MRI scan and the results revealed there was no injury.

Fluminense then confirmed Fred would be fit to play against Inter, however, just before the team set off to Porto Alegre, the Tricolor club then made the decision to leave Fred behind to recover from the pain.

Rafael Moura is now expected to replace the Fluminense number 9, partnering former Inter striker Rafael Sobis up front.
