At 33 years old, the former Sporting Lisbon striker has had three operations on his left knee and needs special care to avoid any further complications.

Despite Liedson’s injury concerns, the naturalized Portuguese striker has scored some key goals for Corinthians this season.

When asked about extending his contract with the Timão, Liedson told the press, ‘I think about it yes, but the question is talking. I think it’s still a bit to early to discuss my situation, but I will be very happy if I can renew my contract with Corinthians.”

With six games remaining in the league, Liedson is keen to help guide Corinthians to their fifth league title.
