Before that, the Seleção take on Gabon in Liberville, capital of the African country, in a friendly that along with the Egypt encounter represent Brazil’s final outings of 2011.

Mano Menezes will call his squad on Thursday, but there are question marks over whether the coach will call up those players competing for the Brazilian Championships.

There are several members of recent squads, including Ralf, Paulinho, Ronaldinho, Jefferson and Lucas Moura who are still hoping to bring home a league title with their clubs and could miss two crucial encounters if selected.

One solution would be for these players to participate to join the game against Gabon and then return to their clubs.

Another option for the CBF is to only select those players who play in Europe. In that case, the expectation would be for a return of Kaká, who has not played since the World Cup, and is in fine recent form for Real Madrid.

All of which brings yet more attention on the CBF’s lack of adequate scheduling.
