With Adilson just one of a string of managers to have failed to take São Paulo to expected heights since the glory days of Muricy Ramalho, São Paulo are determined to make a considered decision on the incoming coach.

The club have made it clear that they are looking for a manager with a history of title success and a hardline attitude, as they look to make amends for what may turn out to be yet another trophy-less season.

Milton Cruz, who steps up from the Assistant job, will now become the club’s third boss this season after Paulo César Carpegiani and Adilson Batista both received their forms earlier in the campaign.
