Brazil"s regular right-back since the retirement of the legendary Cafu, Dani Alves has won everything in the European club game in his time at Barcelona. Now, he is looking for success at international level with the Seleção.

Having missed the summer break to take part in the Copa América, Dani Alves insisted in an interview with Terra that he is not concerned by travelling around the world to represent his country.

“The fatigue is more psychological than physical. The body sometimes asks for rest, but it is worth [the fatigue] to be in the squad," said the ex-Sevilla player.

“It is important that every player has no doubt that it is important to be here and we need to make sacrifices. This is how you build a strong group."

Despite not taking part, Dani Alves was also positive about the Superclassico de las Américas, where Brazil took on Argentina over two-legs featuring only home-grown players.

“It"s nice to see the Brazilian team playing well and winning. This makes everyone happy and confident for the challenges ahead."

However, the reality of being a Brazil squad is all too clear to those involved and Alves is no exception.

“Only the winning players continue with the team. If you don"t win, usually you don"t return.
