AS claims that the 31-year-old is closing in on a deal with the Istanbul based club, being able to do so due to a clause in his contract that allows him to negotiate with European teams.

The same story says that the talks are at an advanced stage, and despite Ronaldinho’s high wage demands, Galatasaray are confident that he will complete the move in the European winter transfer window.

Assis, Ronaldinho’s brother who also acts as his agent, is reportedly set to travel to Turkey to discuss terms with Galatasaray. However, he has denied these rumours, and says his brother and client is committed to Flamengo.

“I am surprised. I was not aware of this,” said Assis. “I’ll tell you one thing in all honesty: Ronaldinho always receives proposals, but he has a contract with Flamengo, and has embraced their project.

“There is a very good relationship,” he continued. “He is happy that he is back in the Brazil team and happy in Rio, which for him is pure tranquillity.”
