Mancini was recently given the job after Cruzeiro parted company with Emerson Avila due to a poor run of results. The 2010 Brasileirão runners-up are currently just one place above the relegation zone, and need to turn things around quickly.

Sylvinho retired from professional football in July, over a year after leaving his final club, Manchester City. This is his first job since quitting as a player, and he will hope to help Mancini lead the team to safety.

He began his playing days with Corinthians, before moving to Arsenal in 1999. After two years in North London, he moved to Spain, where he played for Celta Vigo and Barcelona, before returning to England with Manchester City in 2009.
