The German club has come out in full support of the Brazilian defender following his arrest on Friday. However, manager Jupp Heynckes has admitted he believes Breno has had problems with his personal life recently, sparked by a recurring knee injury he had for a lot of his time in Germany.

Heynckes said: “On the eve of the fire, Bruno had knee pain, inflamed again. I think it may have been the trigger. We are all shocked at Bayern. He appeared to be going through some personal problems, but it went unnoticed because his rehabilitation was going normal.

“Before we talk about anything, we must wait to the end of the investigation as we can’t create speculation. We are giving full support to Breno and I will talk to him in the next couple of days.”

What is strange about the manager’s comments is that he seems to imply Breno could have been capable of starting the fire due to these personal problems.

According to reports in the Sunday German press, the defender was suffering from depression due to physical problems and he has also had disagreements with his wife Renata recently.
