Atletico Mineiro 2-3 Corinthians

The home side went into a surprise 2-0 lead with a goal from Dudu Cearense (14′) and a penalty from Guilherme (27′). However, Corinthians turned it around after the break, and hauled themselves level through Emerson (49) and Alex (penalty; 53′). Rever was sent off for the home side just before the hour, and Corinthians went on to win thanks to a goal from Liedson on 75 minutes.

Avai 0-2 Vasco da Gama

Vasco moved up to third with victory at Avai. Their goals came from Diego Souza (27′) and Dede (67′). Robson was sent off for the home side with 15 minutes remaining.

Santos 2-3 Coritiba

Santos suffered another loss and remain in big trouble towards the bottom of the table. Borges opened the scoring for the hosts after just four minutes, but Coritiba equalised through Jeci on 33′. Borges scored again to restore Santos’ lead with 54 minutes gone, but they were again pegged back by another equaliser ten minutes later, this time from Marcos Aurelio. Para was sent off for Santos on 77′, before Leo Gago scored Coritiba’s winner nine minutes later. Edu Dracena was sent off in injury time to compound Santos’ misery, after they had also earlier missed a penalty.
