Half-time: Germany started the stronger, but Brazil came back into it as the game went on. There have been few clear-cut chances for either side, with Gotze going closest for the home side early on. Join us again in about fifteen minutes for the second-half!

44′: Trasch fires in a shot that deflects just wide of Thiago Silva. At the other end, Neymar drags an effort across goal but beyond the far post.

43′: Lahm swings in a deep cross, but there is no-one to meet it and it drifts harmlessly out for a goal kick.

39′: Brazil go straight up the other end, and Pato beats four defenders with some nifty footwork, but screws his shot well wide of the post.

38′: …and Kroos hits a decent effort, but just too high.

37′: Now a free-kick to Germany, in a dangerous position on the edge of the box…

34′: Brazil win a free-kick 30 yards out, which Dani Alves smashes goalwards. It is straight at Neuer, who makes a meal of it but pushes the ball away.

32′: The pace of the game has slowed now, and the tackles are starting to get scrappy.

27′: The ball runs out for a throw in, with German coach Jogi Low returning it after a few keepy-ups. Menezes is impressed, and gives his counterpart a thumbs up!

25′: End to end stuff! Muller almost has a chance to give Germany the lead, but Lucio steps in to tackle.

24′: Ramires wins a free-kick wide on the left. Neymar takes it, but floats it straight into the waiting hands of Neuer.

22′: Trasch is involved at the other end, pulling the ball back from the right hand side to Kroos, who drags a shot wide from the edge of the box.

16′: Robinho finds Andre Santos on the left of the box, but the latter’s low cross is put behind for a corner by Neuer, which comes to nothing.

12′: Kroos is caught in possession in midfield, and the ball ends up with Pato with a decent chance inside the box, but he dwells too long and is tackled.

9′: Germany have started much the better side, with Gotze pulling the strings in midfield. Brazil have not been in the game yet.

6′: Good save by Julio Cesar! Gotze was found free at the back post, and after cutting back onto his left foot, he tested Cesar from close range, with the Inter ‘keeper tipping the ball away.

4′: Schweinsteiger tries a speculative effort from some distance but it is way off target.

3′: Germany win two corners in quick succession, but nothing comes from either of Mario Gotze’s deliveries.

19:48: Brazil get us underway in Stuttgart!

19:42: This is the Seleção’s first game since their disappointing Copa America quarter-final exit against Paraguay, and they will be looking to bounce back with a morale-boosting win.

19:40: Brazil are yet to beat a top nation under Mano Menezes, having lost to Argentina and France and drawing against the Netherlands. Can they change that tonight?

19:36: This is the first meeting of these two sides since 2005, when Brazil won 3-2 in the Confederations Cup semi-final.

19:32: The big news for Brazil tonight is that Ganso has been dropped. What do you think of his exclusion?
