The tournament kicks off on July 29, with Brazil taking on Egypt in the final match of the opening day. The squad will travel from their training base to Sao Paulo, where they will catch their flight to Colombia. Take-off is scheduled for 15:32 local time.

The Seleção youngsters were due to play Campeonato Brasileiro Serie C side Macaé in a practice match on Saturday. However, due to heavy rain, the game was called off, with the Brazil management not wanting to risk injury to any of their players.

After playing Egypt, Brazil will then take on Austria on August 1, and Panama three days after that. They will be looking to lift the trophy for the fifth time, having won the competition in 1983, 1985, 1993 and 2003.
