Ganso an adept in old school passing

“I prefer to give an assist than to score myself. I always said that a good pass is my way of scoring. But of course I like to celebrate a goal now and then,” Ganso said on the CBF website. “Before it was easier to find a teammate in the space, the player holding the ball had more time and freedom to find the good trajectory.”

One of Ganso’s favourite goals is the one scored by Pele in Brazil’s first game in the World Cup 1970. “It is beautiful, the pass, the finish, everything is perfect. Obviously it is still possible to do the same type of assist today. But it is difficult. You need to see the game to be able to do such a pass,” Ganso said.

The young playmaker admitted that with Neymar it is easier, they have been playing together at Santos since 2007 and they know each other’s game by heart. “I already know where he is going to be. We complete each other,” He said. Ganso finds that his vision of the game fits in the old expression: “the ball is running not the player.”

Tonight Ganso will be in the starting 11 against Paraguay and for sure he will bless the game with his incredible passes and graceful touches, maybe even with an assist or a goal. The game is at 8pm UK time and LIVE ON SAMBAFOOT.
