So far Mano Menezes’ side have drawn both of their first two games, and have come in for criticism for a lack of creativity. However, Ganso still thinks that they can beat Ecuador and boost morale ahead of the quarter-finals.

Speaking at a recent press conference, the young Santos star said: “I am sure that on Wednesday we will improve our football to claim a great victory. We will look to play our football with flair, which is what the Brazilian people enjoy.

“The national team has great players, and we will put on a great display on Wednesday,” he continued. “I hope we can play with the kind of style that the Brazilian fans like to watch.”

Brazil face Ecuador on Thursday morning at 01:45 UK time (Wednesday night, 21:45 local time). After Argentina’s comfortable win over Costa Rica, the Seleção only need a point against Ecuador to reach the quarter-finals.
