Flamengo Vs Avai

He made the headlines with off the pitch related stories, but Ronaldinho reminded everybody that he belonged to a restricted club of great players. He responded to his critics on the green pitch and with the ball in his feet, playing what is so far his best game for Flamengo.

It is of course the first game of the season and Avai presented their B team, but the4-0 victory of Flamengo is a statement: they want the title and have the skills to get it.

The goals were scored by Botinelli, Thiago Neves, Ronaldinho Gaúcho and Diego Maurício

Atlético Mineiro Vs Atlético Paranaense

It took 5 minutes for Atletico Mineiro to score their first goal in their  first game of the Brasileirão. It was Toro who scored first, and then Magno Alves scored twice – one in the first half and one in the second half- securing a 3-0 victory.

Ceara Vs Vasco

It was clear right from the start of the game that both Vasco and Ceara had the semi final of the Copa do Brasil in the back of their head.  Both teams presented a mix line up of their A and B team.

Nevertheless the game was exciting with Ceara scoring first in the 19th minute of the second half. The celebration didn’t last long for the home team as Vasco came back in the game in only three minutes. Bernado scored twice in the space of two minutes bringing Vasco back to a 1-2 lead.

6 minutes before the end of the game Elton scored the third goal making the final score 1-3 for the visiting team.
