How would rate the current season at Santos?
Zé Elias
This year I am much more adapted in relation to the last year, when I arrived half way through the season. I believe everything is going well, especially with the way the team is playing.

What are your personal objectives at the club?
Zé Elias
To help the players get to the top of the table, that is so important for the club and obviously my personal career, and also to collaborate more so that Santos are each day that passes a better team.

You have not played for Brazil since 1999. Why do you think you did not get selected more? Do you still think about participating in the national team?
Zé Elias
My removal occurred more from other options that for one or another particular reason. I have the will to come back to play for Brazil yes, but we all know that Brazil is a country that always has new players of top quality.

You seem to be a person who likes to motivate the team. How would you describe the environment of the team right now?
Zé Elias
The environment is wonderful right now. My characteristic is always to play, to motivate, to stimulate and to pass what I have already learnt to the boys who are just starting in the game.

You already played with Giovanni at Olympiakos. What would you say he can contribute to the team?
Zé Elias
I’ve had the privilege to play with some great players: Ronaldo, at Inter of Milan, Baggio, and with Giovanni, who is one of the best around. He has impressive technique and is an all round quality player. Certainly, here at Santos he adds experience to the club.
