São Paulo ran riot and put three goals past Ituano, keeping a clean sheet in the process. The win makes it the seventh consecutive victory, securing their place in the quarterfinals.

The visitors were too much for Ituano to handle, as they completely dominated the game from start to finish and scored after only nine minutes into the match up.

Rodrigo broke the deadlock from the penalty spot, after Galeano was brought down by Suéliton in the goal area.

Few minutes later, Igor Vinicius doubled São Paulo’s lead, after getting to the end of Welington’s cross and putting it at the back of the net.

The second half came worse for Ituano, with the two-goal deficit and a mountain to climb to get something out of the game, Jeferson was given a straight red for his bad foul and destroyed all the confidence of the host.

Antonio Galeano had a goal cancelled for offside before making it three with 15 minutes to spare.

Ituano, however, had more problems as Gabriel Taliari was also sent off, leaving the team with only nine outfield players. São Paulo controlled them game afterward, ending the match at 3-0.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Tricolor in Paulistão. With the win, São Paulo move up to 25 points in Group B and are now guaranteed of a spot in the quarter-final of the competition.

Ituano will return to the field next Wednesday to face São Caetano at the Anacleto Campanella stadium, while São Paulo will host Rentistas in Morumbi for the Libertadores da América, before facing Corinthians on Sunday at Neo Química Arena for Campeonato Paulista.
