Brazil are part of the three countries to have advanced to the quarter-final round of the Copa America 2021, which is ongoing at the moment. The other two heavyweight sides include Argentina and Chile.

Argentina and Chile advanced to the Copa America quarterfinals on Monday. In their most recent match, Argentina defeated Paraguay 1-0, while Chile drew 1-1 with Uruguay, giving them seven and five points, respectively, as both countries lead Group A.

With four games remaining in Group A, Paraguay has three points, Uruguay has one, and Bolivia has none, giving them all a chance to advance to the knockout stages.

With six points, the Seleçao leads Colombia by two points and Peru by three points in Group B. Venezuela has two points, while Ecuador has one. As a result of their fantastic performances in their previous two games, Brazil is the only team in Group B to qualify to the next round, defeating Venezuela and Peru while scoring seven goals and conceding none. The game against Peru in particular though, was one for concern as they were far from their fluid best despite the score-line. Regardless, even if they lose their next game against Colombia, they are unconcerned about missing out.

With two goals and one assist, Neymar, the talisman of Paris Saint-Germain, has been the standout performer for the Brazilian team thus far in the campaign.

The Brazilian team has shown zeal and drive, demonstrating how serious they are about winning this year’s event. Being the best team thus far has put the team in a strong position as a strong favourite to win the cup this year, claiming their tenth title and back-to-back victories for the third time in their Copa America history, joining Uruguay and Argentina in that area.
