The 29-year-old has been an integral part of the Bayern lineup since he joined from Barcelona in 2013.

Since that time, Thiago has established himself as one of the best midfielders in world football, lifting 15 trophies with the Bavarians including seven Bundesliga titles and three German cups.

It would appear the Spaniard is now fulfilled in Germany and is ready to test the waters somewhere else.

Having played in La Liga and the Bundesliga, it’s more than expected that Thiago would want to move somewhere else. The latest development is that Premier League champions Liverpool are the favourites to land the midfielder as it stands.

With his contract set to expire at the end of next season, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the club would rather sell him now than lose him for free next summer.

“We haven’t had contact with Liverpool,” Rummenigge said to Bild in an interview on Friday.

“But if he wants to go there, we’ll have to. We’re negotiating with him, but it seems as though he wants to try something new at the end of his career. We don’t want to lose him for free. I’m clear about that.”

Reports from the Spanish media claim Liverpool would have to pay around 35 million euros to sign Thiago. It’s quite good business for Bayern Munich considering they bought him for 10 million euros less as a 22-year-old.

Since making his debut for Bayern in 2013 against Borussia DortmundThiago has featured 230 times for the club, scoring 31 goals and supplying 37 assists.
