Striker Gabriel Barbosa left the field confident despite Santos" goalless draw against Flamengo on Thursday in the Round-35 Brasileirão fixture at Vila Belmiro.
Gabigol does not consider the draw a bad result, and the number 10 believes the team can return to the top-4 next weekend. To return to the top-4, Santos must defeat Coritiba on Sunday at the Couto Pereira, and hope São Paulo stumble at the Arena Corinthians. Gabigol said: “We won several games at home, but we could not today. The crowd recognized that we fight. Nothing worked, but the important thing is that the team did not lose. Some days, it doesn"t give anything right. The important thing is that we added one point. It was a good and open game. São Paulo were behind us, but we have all the conditions to to pass them over the weekend."
With the draw against Flamengo, Santos dropped to 5th place in the table with 55 points, while São Paulo [4-2 win over Atlético Mineiro] leapfrogged them and are now 4th.
