Brazil coach Dunga has admitted the team were anxious about taking on Mexico in front of their own fans.
The friendly with Mexico ended in a 2-0 win for the Seleção in what was their first match back on home soil since their traumatic World Cup 2014 exit. After a slow start to the match whistles could be heard in the stands, but goals from Philippe Coutinho and Diego Tardelli settled the friendly at Allianz Parque in São Paulo. Dunga said: “The main thing, without doubt, is to keep winning, especially when playing at home after the World Cup. There was anxiety for us and the supporters. From the beginning, some fans had limited patience. We knew we would have to reverse this situation. Things happened because of the work of the players on the pitch. It took away some of the anxiety for the fans, and for us too.”
