The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best attacking midfielder’s currently playing in Brazil, and news of a possible move to Europe will come as little surprise to those aware of his talents.

Reports from Lancenet claim that Elkeson’s agent met with leaders of Botafogo on Wednesday to discuss the possibility of his client joining Juventus in the summer.

However, Botafogo’s vice director of football, André Silva, has since come out claiming that the club have had no official contact with Juve, and insisted that an offer of €5 million would not prize Elkeson away from the Engenhão.

”We heard about the news in the press, but there has been no official contact,” he told Super Rádio Tupi. ”For €5 million, Elkeson will not be going anywhere. It’s a value that does not reflect the player’s qualities.”
