Ramires’ last appearance for the Seleçao was in a friendly against Germany last August, but following his sensational performances against Barcelona over both Champions League semi-final legs, pressure has mounted on Menezes to hand the 25-year-old a recall.
When the former Corinthians boss was asked by reporters about the possibility of Ramires returning to the Brazil set-up, he said:
”Ramires has been playing well for a long time. He was part of the squad at the beginning of my reign.
”People get confused with some situations. Sometimes we leave players out and find that people think that we don’t consider them anymore. But sometimes it’s because we already know their importance to the Seleção, and we want to have a look at other players.”
