Ganso’s contract is an issue of concern with the Paulista club, having rejected several opportunities to extend earlier in the season. However, President Ribeiro has stated that the player has expressed a desire to remain with this season’s Libertadores champions.
“He told me a few days ago that he wanted to stay for the centenary of the club and that he will sort his contractual situation in January,” Ribeiro announced.
“We must respect his choice. I hope to see him in January.”
Santos remain hopeful of retaining Ganso, but President Ribeiro remains realistic regarding a possible departure of one of the club’s prized assets.
