Breno joined Bayern from Sao Paulo for €12 million in the 2008 January transfer window, but has struggled to become a regular in the first team due to injuries, and has made just 33 appearances since his arrival.

As a result, Sao Paulo are hoping they can bring him back to Brazil for a cut-price fee, but Breno’s agent Guilherme Miranda is unsure if their offer will be enough to persuade Bayern to sell.

“I have no idea if Bayern will accept the offer,” Miranda told Lancenet. “I do not know if the club who signed the player for €12 million will sell him for €2 million.”

Bayern officials reportedly discussed Breno’s future at the club on Friday, with the 21-year-old likely to slide further down the pecking order due to the recent signings of defenders Jerome Boateng and Rafinha.
