The transfer saga involving 19-year-old Neymar has dragged on for months, and speculation over his future has been one of the most discussed topics in the media. It was recently claimed that five clubs had met his release clause, including Real Madrid, and now it seems as if he could be on his way to the Bernabeu.

His agent Ribeiro was quoted by Lancenet as saying: “The economical part has been settled between Real Madrid and Santos. The Santos president himself has already told them to talk to the player to learn if he wants to go or not.

“Real have already talked to me and made an offer. It only depends on Neymar. Santos will get the €45 million and the player will leave because the release clause has been met.”

Barcelona have also made an offer, and would allow Neymar to remain at Santos for another year as part of the deal. The Brazilian side prefer this bid, but Ribeiro says the final decision lays with Neymar.

“Barcelona want to buy, but leave him at Santos one more year,” he continued. “Of course, Santos prefer this offer. I know Neymar wants to stay. He will be the one to decide, but only after the Copa America.”
