Marca reports that the 19-year-old told Brazil teammate Dani Alves: “I don"t know anything about Barcelona. I will play for [Real] Madrid next season."
However, Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro hopes the club will be able to hang on to their prized asset for the Club World Cup in December and for their centenary year (next year).
“My intention is that he will stay with us at least until we meet Barcelona in the [Club World Cup] final," said Ribeiro.
“We don"t want to lose him until the centenary [2012] but it all depends on him and what he wants to do," he added.
Ribeiro recently announced that five clubs, including Real, had met Neymar"s minimum fee clause and been given permission to discuss terms with the player.
