This was Alvinegra"s first away win in the competition. On the other hand, the Lion lost for the first time on the Island under the command of Jair Ventura 

The visitors" goals were scored by Honda and Caio Alexandre in the first half,

while the home team got one back with Thiago Neves after the expulsion of the Botafogo star Rafael Forster in the second half. 

Botafogo"s midfielders were the highlights of the match against SportKeisuke Honda, closest to the attack, had an excellent participation and made his first goal in the Brasileirão taking advantage of an error in Luan Polli"s ball. Of the 24 passes he made in the game, 23 were correct. He still had a chance to expand in the first half, but missed a good opportunity after beating Sport"s goalkeeper. 

Caio Alexandre has now taken pleasure in scoring goals. The midfielder scored his fourth goal in the competition, the third in a row, after defensive pass by defender KanuCaio ended the game with 19 passes, all sure. In addition to the goal, he has contributed with good launches and helped to deconstruct the opposing lines. 

With the result, Botafogo leaves the relegation zone and reaches 12th place, with 18 points. Bruno Lazaroni"s team can still be overtaken by other sides in the round. 

 In the next round, Botafogo will face Grêmio on Wednesday at Arena do Grêmio. 

Sport fell on the table and is ninth, with 20 points. Jair Ventura"s team will host Internacional at Ilha do Retiro next Wednesday.
