The record prizes that the Libertadores and the Sudamericana will deliver

The gala in which the groups of the Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana were drawn also served for the president of CONMEBOL, Alejandro Domínguez, to announce a growth in the audience and an increase in the prizes that both tournaments will award.

In the case of the Libertadores, the teams will receive 1,000,000 dollars for each match played in the group stage, plus another 330 thousand for the winner based on sporting merit. There will be an extra $1,250,000 to the clubs for each round of 16 match and an additional $1,700,000 for each quarterfinal match.

Meanwhile, those who reach the semifinal will receive another $2,300,000 in each match of the bracket. The runner-up will earn an extra $7,000,000 and the champion of the 2014 edition of the Libertadores will take another $23,000,000.

“What football generates is reinvested in football! We have decided to increase the prizes, reaching a historic figure for world football, the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2024 final will be the best paid in the world,” Domínguez highlighted.

As for the Sudamericana, the clubs will receive 300,000 dollars for the group stage matches and another 115,000 for the winner based on sporting merit. The prizes increase in each instance, with the champion receiving 6,000,0000 dollars, one million more than in 2023, and the runner-up receiving 2,000,0000 US dollars.
